That being said,

The equation is simple: provide a certain amount of free content to draw in traffic, then convert that traffic into sales by sending it over to various adult sites, where hopefully maybe 1 in 100,000 visitors will actually make a purchase.
Some of this advertising is legit, for example: Naughty America will have a 3 5 minute trailer for a scene cut and uploaded to pornhub, which will provide redirect links to viewers to purchase a membership from NA. Every time someone joins NA using that link, the tube site gets a referral fee.
Then tube sites started getting greedy (or lazy, depending on how you look at it) when they realized that regardless of whether the content uploaded is legitimate licensed content, or pirated content, they still make tons of money from advertising dollars. In fact, the more free content on the site in general, regardless of how much of it is pirated,

Where is their incentive to prevent users from uploading pirated
**** scenes? Right, there is none. One might even say that given the rarity of successful lawsuits against
**** piracy and the rampant piracy on tube sites, they have all of the incentive in the world to allow pirated content. Or at least pretend they don know it there.
In the vast majority of cases, the worst that could happen is the tube site is served with a DMCA takedown notice, upon which they remove the stolen content. It a slap on the wrist. And the next day the same video is often re uploaded by another (sometimes the same) user. It like playing Whack A Mole, and small
**** studios do not have the time to whack 24 hours a day. Anyone who frequents these tube sites should give thought to where all of the advertising revenue these sites generate is going. Because I can tell you for sure, it not going to the people who are working very hard to make the
