Man lied about deafness to help sell his paintings
A HOLIDAYMAKER who lied about being deaf to convince people to buy his paintings was rumbled when he appeared to respond to someone who refused.
Pawel Piotr Kulwicki went door to door in Helston showing a handwritten laminated note which claimed he was deaf,

He showed officers a handwritten note saying he was selling art, but they searched him and found a second stating he was deaf,

He had failed to sell any of his pieces,

He had previously been cautioned on June 5 for an offence of fraud the day before, when he also tried to sell paintings claiming he was disabled and raising money for an operation.
Speaking through an interpreter he pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud by false representation,

"It is perhaps unfortunate he was using the sign saying he was deaf and dumb because if he had used the other one there would be no offence committed. He is actually leaving to go back to Poland tomorrow with no intention to return. He has just enough money to get home sharing a lift with his friend,
