Cheddar's Menu
"This is my first review, and my first time going to cheddar's. I have heard about their long wait times and since I don't stay near I just didn't want to travel that far based on the long wait time, and also after reviewing their menu on line I just wasn't that inspired to go. Finally I was in that part of town at the right time and decided I would go ahead and give them a try with my mom on her lunch break. We got their at 11:05 and I felt kinda ashamed to be showing up soon as they opened because to me  a former server, it's kinda like going to a restaurant 5 minutes before they close(ex. all the food and drinks are broke down, employees are ready to finish the process to go home, and cooks are mopping and cleaning, and the guest are talked about because you are making them redo work that is required to be started 45 minutes before they close) so any way most food service places still need at least an extra 10 minutes even after the scheduled opening time to really get up to speed because as I just stated sometimes food is still being set up like salad bars , condiments, bread is not quite ready baked potatoes need a little more time and sometimes an extra 5 or 10 minutes is just needed so things can go off without a hitch. But once I saw the parking lot at 11:05, I said OMG!!! I just drove by here at 10:45 giving the place a chance to open up and the lot was clear it looked like the prime lunch or dinner hour on a weekend 5 minutes after opening!!! But we were actually set right away.
So. lets start at the door the first impression the hostesses were ok but this is where my dining experience is supposed to start, the hostess should be cheerful, pleasant, and engaging. They were blah 5 minutes after opening. No welcome to chedders, good morning, how are you all doing, no conversation while escorting us to our seat, not telling us who our server would/should be so I just felt kinda like a burden on them since they were giving me the vibe that damn do yall know we "just opened" and obviously had at least 30 or more guest in there already. I could sense the attitude and frustration and that is exactly what I was trying to avoid  hence me not be in a line outside waiting for 11:00 on the dot. Oh and one of the hostess looked like she just got out of bed and put her uniform on without buttoning her shirt correctly, and her hair not combed. They should have made her groom herself a little before she hit that floor. Next our server arrived and THANK YOU GOD we had a good one her name was Tia! because from what I saw of all of these female servers in there was attitude, frowns, side eyes at me and my mom,ghd ofertas, walking back and forth with not so much as a grin on their face and surely not a hello. Since several of them were eyeing me and noticing my eye contact, I at least expected a fake smile or some acknowledgement. Even the other servers running the food were horrible. They just dropped off whatever they had without referencing the food or asking is there anything you need , or does everything look ok? Even if you don't intend to be a team player and treat all guest like your guest (this is what is called hospitality in the restaurant business), they could still ask those questions and let the server know what we may need, or if the order is not right. That way the server has a head up on what is going on at their table and they have the opportunity to respond asap. But with all those servers in their they were not customer service oriented at all. All the ones I saw had frowns on their face and they just looked like they didn't enjoy their jobs at all. Why the attitude and nonchalant attitude so early in the shift???
Last the management. while we didn't have any problems with our food or service, I could just feel the tension in the managers attitude. they were so busy with all the guest sitting them, and running the host stand I just didn't get a friendly vibe from them it was like they had tunnel vision, only focused with sitting people, ghd outlet, and cleaning tables no one to come around and make contact with the guest ask if we are enjoying everything (remember this was my first visit and would have made a memorable impression and prompted me to come back despite the wait, if I felt that at least I know I will get good service and the management team really cares about your experience. I wanted to let one of the two managers I saw know about the ugly looks their servers had on their faces and lack of hospitality they showed, but they were way too busy being a regular employee for me to let them know how my first experience was at Chedders.
The problem with this location is. that having a restaurant in Southwind means nothing anymore. To many urban, non  tipping people visit these casual dinning restaurants and after a while the whole customer and employee moral is out the window. It is mostly the clientale and I just feel that the hostess are tired of people who don't know how to wait the wait time, or say sorry I don't want to wait that long and leave, and they mad and take it out on them so hence, the host staff shuts down, don't be too friendly because they may get mad when they really have to wait 2 3 hours. The servers are sick and damn tired of people who don't know how to tip, just because the food is cheap and it's just casual dining so why should I leave 18 20%? But if the service was exceptionally good that is what the server is expecting no matter how much the food cost. And this is where the servers attitude comes from, like I said they have been burnt 1 too many times and think the majority of guests in there are cheap and won't tip good, tiffany joyas, so they just give up on going over and beyond, being a team player, and hospitable. And management are really dealing with a lot of lack luster, unprofessional, unfriendly staff, which makes being an effective manager difficult. All of these problems is no excuse. I'm just saying. So 5 months or so after opening it has already turned. And mark these words it will only get worse, and people who dine out often, expect good service, and who know how to tip accordingly WILL NOT frequent Chedders anymore. Sorry for the long post this is why I don't post reviews I type like I am talking but if you read all of this I'm sure you understand exactly what I mean."   cc
"I must admit from reading past reviews Cheddars was not on my list of options for dining on this owning but I was meeting a friend for lunch that lives in the area so to keep her from driving out the way we decided to meet at Cheddars, ghd baratas. Myself nor her had ever been. In the past I wanted to check it out but the long wait lines were a scare. Not to mention the reviews from past guests. To my surprise I was wrong. Im Glad I got a chance to come and have my own experience because it was awesome, tiffany precios. My server was Caren and she was Devine to say the least. She took her time with us and went over some excellent menu options, ghd eclipse. I chose the bourbon salmon and my friend chose the lunch three combination. The salmon melted in my mouth and her loaded potatoe soup and Caesar salad was indeed a winning combination. Caren was polite and very attentive we promised her we would defiantly return and she asked us to bring a friend, tiffany y co."   Steff
"We went to Cheddar's last night for the first time, expecting a treat , but unfortunately we probably won't go back. The restaurant is nicely appointed and clean, but the food was mediocre at best. I ordered and entree , only to be told 10 mintues later that they were "out" of it, so I just ordered a cheeseburger ( menu was not re offered) , which was unseasoned and had some very nasty shredded lettuce on top. The side salad was ok, but nothing to write a great review on. My dinner companions ordered other items, but had the same general opinion. Bland, blah. Thankfully, the company was good and we enjoyed the visit,"   Lisa Godfrey VanNostrand
"I really enjoyed my visit at Cheddars this past Sunday. Karen was my waitress and she took excellent care of me and my two roommates. It was not our first time visiting but it was our first time actually enjoying ourselves. Past occasions the service was just ok. The mandentory graturity that was placed on my check this time was well deserved. Karen is an asset to this company if Cheddars can get a few more employees that take their job seriously they will make it. Karen has redeemed our business. Ella(girlfriend for life)and I dined in and because of the crowd, I asked her if it was okay for us to sit at the bar. She agreed. It was a small issue for me since I am short. But that was okay. I managed to get myself situated quite comfortably at the bar. Bradley was our server. His service and food was like WOW (was outta this world) good for me! I had the dinner portion of Wild Alaskan Salmongreen beansmashed potatoes. I accented my salmon with loads of Tabasco(compliments of Bradley)spritz of lemons and I added ranch dressing to my mashed potatoes and green beans. I had no complaints. Bradley's spirit was high, happygolucky if you will. He engaged everyone at the bar. Even though he was pressed to make mixed drinks for the customers, he never lost his cool. He made waiting on ALL of our food orders and mixed drink requests seem so effortless. I loved his spirit and got nothing but good vibes from him. I even heard him tell a customer to give him 2 minutes and as he turned away, the customer told him "your two minutes are up". He returned with a smile and chuckled even. I got in on the laugh and the lady sitting next to me chimed in too. Bradley told her "you got me that time". So take it from me, the next time you're in Cheddar's and they're bangupbusy, ask the Host/Hostess to usher you to the bar. Ask for Bradley, and tell him Elizabeth sent you. Trust me you'll enjoy the food, the service, the small talk and beautifully decorated Aquarium while you wait. Happy eating.
