The race to play Queen frontman Freddie Mercury on screen has brought up some likely and rather unlikely candidates Baron Cohen has left his fans shocked after dropping out of the forthcoming Freddie Mercury biopic in which he was due to play the Queen frontman.
The comedian and actor the brains behind Borat,ugg pas cher, Bruno and Ali G quit the film over differences with surviving band members Brian May and Roger Taylor over how they wanted to portray Mercury life on screen.
As such the search is now on for a replacement actor to fill Mercury rock star trousers with the bookies already taking bets on who might take the role.
And as always, there are some likely and not so likely candidates in the running. Might be slightly important when it comes to playing the Queen frontman.

For Freddie: Carrey might have made his name as a funnyman, but he also shown he a pretty decent dramatic actor in the likes of The Truman Show,bottes ugg, Man On The Moon etc etc. Plus he not had a big hit movie for a while (this year effort The Incredible Burt Wonderstone didn exactly set the box office on fire). Could Mercury be the comeback he looking for?
Against Freddie: Could be a hard sell for audiences who still think of Carrey as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective or that bloke out of Dumb and Dumber, despite his dramatic credentials.
